Throughout history, the San Sebastian region has hosted some of the finest examples of art and culture and is also internationally renowned for its excellent cuisine. It’s no wonder that the region holds more Michelin stars per square metre than any other place on the planet, second only to Kyoto. A number of varied, unique spaces with a special character are located throughout the province of Gipuzkoa and its capital, the amazing and distinguished city of San Sebastian, which also offer all kinds of different facilities for holding meetings and events.

Located in the north of Spain, just 20 km from the French border, San Sebastian is a city with a strategic location that is open to all of Europe. Considered to be the Pearl of the Cantabrian Sea, it is characterised by its spectacular Bay of La Concha, the beauty of its sea, its beaches, green hillsides and its mountainous surroundings. You can easily walk around this quiet city, with just 186,000 inhabitants, following the wide pedestrian streets or the paths on the edge of the Urumea River and the sea.

The capital of the Basque province of Gipuzkoa occupies a prominent place in the meetings, incentives and events tourism industry, with more than 1,300 rooms in 3, 4, and 5-star hotels that are always updating their facilities and are located less than 30 minutes away from the city’s old town and its main attractions. It also offers all kinds of venues, from historic locations to more avant-garde facilities, along with endless options for enjoying the local cuisine: the “pintxos” finger-food, traditional Basque cooking, cider houses, the “Txoko” gastronomic societies and a total of 9 Michelin-starred restaurants.

With two airports within 40 km of each other – San Sebastian and Biarritz – and with the added option of the Bilbao Airport that is just one hour away by car, the region has direct connections to important European cities such as Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Stockholm, Strasbourg, Geneva, Helsinki, Lille, London, Manchester, Marseille, Milan, Munich, Nice, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Stuttgart, Venice or Zurich.
