During the first week of July the annual two-day retreat and general assembly of the local chapter of Meeting Professionals International took place in Madrid. The biggest industry association made of 16,800 professionals all over the world, of whom 1,300 are based in Europe, presently comprises 140 planners, suppliers, students and faculty members in Spain and Portugal.
Andrés Merino was appointed Director of Membership within a Board of Directors composed of 18 renowned and talented professionals from different backgrounds, sharing a common goal: increasing the professionalism of the events industry by providing excellent educational sessions and networking opportunities.
During the annual retreat, that was celebrated in the renovated and classy Vincci Soho Hotel on July, 2nd and the beautiful natural scenery of Casa del Valle vinyards on July 3rd, the Board of Directors commented on results obtained in 2017 / 2018 and focussed on next goals by creating a strategic plan for 2018 / 2019, when the association will be inspired by the Presidency of Alessia Comis, Director of Pidelaluna events (www.pidelaluna.com).
Andrés, co-Founder of Iberian MICE Forums, seasoned events professional with strong relationships both in Spain and Portugal, is honored to be part of the Board and has already started to make the association grow by recruiting a new member on the next day of the general assembly, that took place during the trade event “evento Days”at IFEMA, Madrid – that is a cool way to start a mandate!
