Following the intensive agenda of 2018, the world seems to have discovered the perfect combination of art, nature and culture offered by Bilbao. This is demonstrated by the numerous hotels which have opened this year: Vincci, Tayko, NYX,and this autumn Ayala . At least another five are due to join these in 2020, as announced by names such as Radisson or Catalonia.
But in Bilbao we continue working together to make new events happen. Our airport has just started new routes to Rotterdam and Florence, and will continue with flights to Milan and Vienna all year round.
In the spring, a wine associated with our partner Azurmendi –an essential food-and-wine adventure with Chef Eneko Atxa– was selected Best International White Wine at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
This autumn, in addition to other international forums, we will welcome Yacht Racing Forum 2019, which recognises our special link with the sea and sailing.
And we will see the start of the spectacular project by Norman Foster for our Museum of Fine Arts, undoubtedly a new architectural landmark for the city.
