The next GMF Corporate Edition will be held in Gijón in June 2025.
The city will bring together the best supply and demand in the corporate events sector in Gijón in June 2025, following the agreement signed this Thursday by the Vice-Mayor of Gijón and Councilor for Economy, Employment, Tourism, and Innovation, Ángela Pumariega, at the international tourism fair (Fitur) held in Madrid.
Following the success and great precedent of the Iberian Edition organized by Iberian MICE Forums (now renamed Global MICE Forums) in 2022, this edition is aimed at Event Managers, Marketing Managers, and Event Procurement Managers, as well as destinations and suppliers across the entire MICE value chain. As is customary in these B2B networking editions, pre-scheduled one-to-one meeting sessions will take place, along with an intensive social program to foster interpersonal connections and generate business opportunities for attendees. And all this will happen in an ideal setting to showcase the best resources for events in the host destination, in this case, Gijón.
The official estimate regarding the capacity, to maintain a small and select format of attendees, is 55 Buyers and 55 Suppliers of events from across Spain.
Pumariega highlighted the importance of signing this agreement for the Tourism area of the City Council, stating: “The capture of meetings and professional events tourism is one of the key elements that we have set in our strategy for the coming years, with a view to making our city a benchmark for MICE tourism.” She added later: “The fact that dozens of agencies specialized in the management of corporate events and end clients will concentrate in Gijón and can discover everything our municipality has to offer, I am sure will result in many of the meetings they organize being held in Gijón.”
