Sitges and the Members of the Sitges Convention Bureau hosted the activities over the course of the three days. The training sessions and their annual assembly took place at Meliá Sitges and at Bodegas Torres in Penedès, and the more than 100 attendees also had the opportunity to enjoy the cuisine of PicNic and Can Laury Restaurants, ME Sitges Terramar, and Clos La Plana. Also during their stay and to discover the destination, Fun-Acció Sitges Events organized a charity scavenger hunt for food collection, which allowed them to explore the most emblematic places of Sitges, ending at CIM- Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasia de Sitges, where a donation worth €700 was made to the Food Bank. The hosting of this meeting in Sitges was an initiative of the Barcelona Convention Bureau and the Barcelona Provincial Council with the support of Sitges Convention Bureau and Catalonia Convention Bureau. ICCA is a professional association in the association segment of the meetings industry that operates worldwide and is divided into regional chapters. Its main purpose is to be the global community of international congress organization, allowing its members to gain and maintain a competitive advantage within the sector. The association has nearly 1,000 members spread across about 90 countries around the world.
In January, we hosted a fam trip of British agents specialized in the MICE sector and on March 23 another one from the Swiss market, both invited by Meliá Hotels Internacional and with the support of Sitges Convention Bureau. The event professionals were able to visit Meliá Sitges and ME Sitges Terramar hotels, discover the destination, and experience Sitges firsthand. Also, on March 20, we welcomed a group of 27 event organizers from Barcelona, invited by Sunway Sitges with the support of Sitges Convention Bureau, who visited the hotel and its new rooms and were able to taste its cuisine.
